Ice Universe has been long claiming that Samsung’s next-gen flagships will look too identical to current models. They will retain the same body shape and design language, including the rear camera array and edges. The source last week shared the exact dimensions for all three Galaxy S23 models and it suggests nothing changes on the outside. Well, the new phones are marginally taller and wider but we are talking about just a few tenths of a millimeter....

Sensor-shift works differently from the traditional OIS (optical image stabilization) found on the current crop of Samsung smartphones. As you might have guessed, this tech makes the image sensor move to counter phone movements while shooting. OIS relies on lens movement for stabilization. The former is often regarded as superior stabilization tech for smartphones, though it is arguable. Apple debuted sensor-shift stabilization on the iPhone 12 Pro Max a couple of years back....

The December SMR is rolling out to both 4G LTE and 5G versions of the Galaxy Z Flip. The rollout has begun in Europe. Samsung’s original clamshell foldables are picking up the update with firmware versions F700FXXSAIVK9 and F707BXXS7IVK7, respectively. The company should soon expand the release to other markets, including the US. The devices aren’t getting anything apart from the latest vulnerability fixes, though. The company is requesting a federal court to dismiss four of the six charges of the lawsuit with prejudice. If granted, this would mean that the case cannot come back to the same court.
