The company indicates that the new features are in response to increased searches related to the virus. In particular, for at-home COVID-19 tests on Google Search. Those searches saw an upward trend at a rate of around 170 percent in May. The latter feature, now including travel restriction reminders via email directly from search isn’t necessarily new. Google rolled out the main feature last year. Now, in the US, users can set reminders for travel restrictions on a state-by-state basis, however....

The listing doesn’t reveal much about the device, except that it supports dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi and will run Android 12 out of the box. To that end, it will also be available with dual-SIM support. But more importantly, this certification indicates that Samsung has two new budget Android smartphones in the works. Perhaps there are more, but the Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04s are nearing their launch....

The Galaxy Fold, which launched as Samsung’s first-ever foldable smartphone in early 2019, is currently receiving the October security update in France, SamMobile reports. The rollout should soon expand to many other regions. The new firmware version is F900FXXS6FUI5. The official changelog for the update only mentions the generic “improved security” and that’s probably it. The Fold is unlikely to be receiving any new features and/or user-facing improvements with this update....

The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the carrier-locked Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the US comes with firmware version G781USQU9GVK8. As of this writing, units on US Cellular networks are only picking up the new release (via). But it should just be a matter of time before Samsung expands the rollout to the remaining wireless carriers and also covers the unlocked models. This update brings a host of new features, changes, and improvements to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G....

This announcement doesn’t come as a surprise to us though. We were already expecting this. Samsung implemented the final Android 12 AOSP (Android Open Source Project) in the third One UI 4.0 beta build for the Galaxy S21 series. The fourth beta release was all about bug fixes. So quite clearly, the company is done adding new features or making changes and improvements. All that remains now is some bug fixing and optimizations....
