As of this writing, the October security update for the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ is available in only one European country: Switzerland. Both 4G LTE and 5G variants are picking up the new SMR in the region, with the updated firmware version being N97**XXS8HVJ1. Samsung should expand the rollout to other European markets in the coming days, followed by a global rollout, including in the US. The latest SMR for the Galaxy A53 5G, meanwhile, is already rolling out widely in Europe....

As noted by 9to5Google (via XDA), users opening the Hangouts app on their Android or iOS will be automatically signed out. A banner that reads “​​Hangouts is being replaced by Google Chat” also appears on top of the screen. This is accompanied by a “Switch to Chat in Gmail” option. Tapping this button signs the user out and takes them to the chat experience within the Gmail app. Google notes that Hangouts conversations from June 2020 will appear after the migration is complete....
